The Ultimate Book Tag

Nggak nyangka akhirnya saya kena tag-tag beginian lagi.

Tag setelahnya jarang saya kerjakan karena males sih sebenernya wkwkw it's taking too much energy.

Thanks Mba Sisca @ Book World, karena ini tag soal buku, I can't say no to you #eaa apalagi sekarang hari minggu pagi. I've got time and the will. Well, here we go.

The Ultimate Book Tag

1. Do you get sick while reading in the car?
Absolutely. Okay, trivia: I easily got car sick. Thus makes me get motion sickness in cars, busses, ships and sometimes planes. The only transportation I don't get motion sickness is train. The rest (except motors and bicycles), occasionaly makes me sick, so I couldn't even ride it properly more over read in it ;__;

2. Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you and why?
Andrea Hirata, of course. His writing style is like no other you could find in Indonesian writer. He uses the melayu style and Indonesian style. And then beautifully blend poems and metafiction. If you are with me, please say YEAH.
3. Harry Potter Series or the Twilight Saga? Give 3 points to defend your answer.
Undoubtedly Harry Potter!
Point 1: I grew with them, who doesn't? That will explains a lot
Point 2: JKR took us to many levels of fantasy world: Hogwarts, Wizards, Dragons, etc. I felt like I lives there with them for my entire children and teenage years. Twilight saga? Hm, not so much. I read the series and watched the movies but I don't relate to their world. I don't imagine myself becomes vampire or werewolf like I imagine myself becomes a witch and hanging out with other witches in Hogwarts, learning about casting spell and transformation or apparates to some other location.
Point 3: Harry Potter teaches you a lot about the form of love and how love can protect or destroy people in a very fenomenal way. Love can brings you to the darkest part of your life or save you from it. That's what I learn and also many other things from JKR book. Twilight saga? Well, despite the fact I learnt to not fall in love too deeply or stupidly love someone enough to turn you into immortal and the most dangerous carnivore species that exist in the world? I don't think I learn much. Sorry twilight saga fans. But I do enjoy the book, I just make a point here.
4. Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is it in (besides books…)?
I have to google what a book bag is like. But apparently it's a bag where you place your book. The form can be a backpack, sling bag, etc. Well, yes I do carry it a lot, everywhere actually. I always put one or two book in every bag I wear. Because you won't know when you will need to read (sometimes we just caught up in a zonk moment where you seems to not do anything and can't leave either). Other than that I also always bring the must have: my purse, umbrella, a pack of tissue and water bottle.
5. Do you smell your books?
Absolutely yes. It's usually refreshing but sometimes I smell something 'bacin/tengik' (what's the english term for that smell?) from new book. I don't know how they can smell that bad. Or sometimes 'lembab' smell from my old book I took from my book shelf.

6. Books with or without little illustrations?
I'm doing fine with books without illustrations. I have no problem to differentiate my feelings toward book with illustrations, graphic novel, comic, or common book.

7. What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing? (Ex. I read Twilight before I read HP and thought the writing was amazing but read HP and now think Twilight is a little bit of a joke.)
Delirium. After I read Hunger Games I was struck and in love with dystopian novel. So I want to read a lot about it. I heard Delirium was a great read and I read it, then I agree it's a good book. But then I read (and reviewed) Uglies series (the three of them), then I realized Delirium was sucks! I lose interest to read the following series.
8. Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share!
I have a lot of stories involving books but when I think about it, there is nothing funny about it. I'll elaborate later if I can think of one. Sorry. :(

9. What is the thinnest book on your shelf?
I've got The Bear Came Over The Mountain by Alice Munro and Dua Saudara by Jhumpa Lahiri. I planned to have it reviewed this month for Baca dan Posting Bareng event. Both are only around 60 pages. I've got this from a good friend of mine, Yudhi Herwibowo. He is a writer, you should just click the link and read his books I've already reviewed.

You also can order these book for only Rp 45.000 and you will get 3 books: Dua Saudara by Jhumpa Lahiri, The Bear Came Over The Mountain, and Demi Esme Dengan Cinta dan Kesengsaraan by JD Salinger, BONUS Benjamin Button by F. Scott Fitzgerarld lho!!
Check here for further information. And contact 0857 28555 217 for order.
10. What is the thickest book on your shelf?
I've got plenty!! Harry Potter series, Eragon series, The Millenium series, etc. You name it.
11. Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?
I don't dare to see my future as an author yet. I believe to be an author you have to experience a lot of both emotion as well as has an insight in practical living that can change people's life. Something that will make differences in this world no matter how small it is. Since I still lack those thing, I don't think I can be able to write anything worth.
12. When did you get into reading?
I get into reading since very early age. My mother told me I've already read very well when I'm around 4 or 5 years old. And I can't stop reading since then.
13. What is your favorite classic book?
I've read several classic books, such as Pride & Prejudice, The Count of Monte Cristo, etc. But I don't feel like classic is my cup of tea. So If The Kite Runner can be categorized as a classic book, well that's my favorite one!
14. In school was your best subject Language Arts/English?
Yes. I got a good score for that subject though not the best one in school. I caught up in english because a good friend of mine always forcefully kindly lend me english books such as The Kite Runner, Harry Potter, Eragon, etc.
15. If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated…what would you do?
Of course I will still keep it. It's not about the book I hate that matter, but it's about the good intention of the giver that matter to me.
16. What is a lesser known series that you know of that is similar to Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?
The lesser known series similar to Harry Potter is Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud. I can see the similar trait of wizard world. The lesser known series of the Hunger Games is Divergent (now has been a world wide known though, thanks to the movie).
17. What is a bad habit you always do (besides rambling) while filming?
If reading in sleeping position is bad habit then I got it. Oh, and I always get immersed in the book so a lot of people get annoyed because I'm not responding to them
18. What is your favorite word?
Kyaa-kyaaa~ I used to said that a lot in every occasion
19. Are you a nerd, dork, or dweeb? Or all of the above?
Hm, dweeb maybe? Haha.. why don't we meet and you can judge yourself.
20. Vampires or Fairies? Why?
Fairies. Simply because I like the sun and the light. You can't get through the day if you are a vampire, right? And I really cannot missed the joy of eating good food!
21. Shapeshifters or Angels? Why?
Angels. Haha, because angels is more powerful and easily do whatever they wanted to do. I really have no idea what shapeshifters can do beside shapeshifting?
22. Spirits or Werewolves? Why?
Hm, tough question. I don't feel like to choose one or both of them.
23. Zombies or Vampires?
Another tough question. But I'd like to choose vampires. They are both dead but at least I'm not a stinky corpse
24. Love Triangle or Forbidden Love?
I can't stand love triangle. I definitely choose forbidden love. More enchanting, full of mystery, complications, and drama!
25. AND FINALLY: Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?
Hm, tough question! Can I choose both? Haha, I love both!

Fiuuuh, selesai juga. Sorry ya nggak banyak foto buku koleksi yang saya sebutkan diatas. Soalnya males bongkar-bongkarin lemari. Huuhuu~ soalnya 25 aja udah banyak bener, I write this post for 2 hours! Haha tukang ngeluh. Maaf ye, maklum hari minggu..
